Green Countertops Options

At The Kitchen Center we like to give you OPTIONS!! When looking for “Green” countertops the options can be confusing and we hope to guide you towards a selection that best fits your needs.

Would you like a post-consumer or pre-consumer recycled product? Would you like a quartz surface, solid surface, or compressed paper product? How much care and maintenance would you be willing to tolerate?

We offer several countertop choices that fill the entire spectrum of “green” options and here are some of your choices. Please visit our “Green” selection center for additional information and to see product samples.

Quartz solid surface:

• Zodiac – offering 4 color options with 50% pre-consumer recycled glass
• Cambria – offering 4 color options with less than 50% pre-consumer recycled glass but is made primarily in the North East United States offering a smaller carbon footprint

Glass/Concrete:

• Vetrazzo – Made of 85% post-consumer recycled glass and a concrete and other additives/pigments

Recycled Compressed Paper:

• Richelite or EcoTop – Made of post and pre consumer recycled paper products purchased from FSC certified sources

Solid Surface:

• Corian – offers their Terra Collection that is comprised of 25 colors ranging from 6-18% of pre and post consumer recycled materials.
